Development at New Brighton has created over 800 new jobs

The £60 million redevelopment of New Brighton’s promenade as exceeded expectations and created over 800 jobs for the local area over the past year. The complex includes a Morrison’s supermarket, Light Cinema and a Grosvenor Casino which has transformed the area and greatly benefited New Brighton’s economy.
The local residents were sceptical of the development at first but a year has passed since the Neptune development opened and the complex has received praise with residents admitting that there was no need for them to worry.
Originally, the Neptune development was expected to create 710 jobs but it has actually created a total of 810 jobs so far. Morrisons has created 311 jobs, Grosvenor Casino has created 120 jobs, 38 jobs have been created by The Light cinema and 30 jobs at Home Bargains with more to come.
The latest addition to the complex is the The Sea Horse, a pub/restaurant chain which is part of the Hungry Horse and is expected to create around 40 jobs. Another addition to New Brighton which is expected to open at the end of the year is the pub chain JD Wetherspoons, which is set to replace the Playas Lounge.
However, around all of this positive development, the proposed health and fitness building remains empty after Neptune failed to find an operator. The building is called The Lido and was a key element in the original proposals for New Brighton.
Are you impressed by the changes to New Brighton and are you expecting to see more investment over the next few years?
