Proposed development on chocolate factory site in Moreton
Posted: 25/11/2013
Burton Biscuit Company is compiling a planning application for 230 residential homes and a mixture of small and medium sized employment units on its site in Moreton, Wirral.
A public consultation is being held on the 29th November 2013 at the Moreton Community Centre on Maryland Lane, CH46 7TS to collect the opinions of the local people and stakeholders. There will be a full suite of technical documents detailing the possible effects of highways, flood risk and noise for local residents.
In other news, the planning application for 16 houses on the grazing land on Greenleas Close has been refused on the grounds that it was an overdevelopment. The privacy of the existing houses would have been lost as well as the character of the surrounding area. Highway safety was a major issue because of Greenleas Primary School located on the other side of the close. It was also mentioned that the emergency vehicle access from Leasowe Road would have ‘proved a danger to highway safety if utilised by vehicles.’ If you would like to read the original blog please click HERE.
In related news, a court hearing took place on Thursday 21st November regarding Fernbank Farm. Wirral Council did not win possession of the land and a trial will be held on the 9th January 2014. If you would like to read the original story, please click HERE.
Would you be happy for a new development site to be built on Pasture Road in Moreton? Do you think it will have positive or negative impacts on the local community?
