Wigan Recycling Centre Recycles Itself!

A former recycling centre in Wigan is set to be transformed into 51 new homes. The Frog Lane site was formally the home to a household recycling centre, but in 2010 was closed down and has been empty ever since, until work commenced on the 51 new homes by Gleeson Homes and Regeneration.

The Princes Park development is expected to be completed by 2018 and will include a mixture of house styles and sizes available through the Help to Buy scheme, some of which have already been reserved.  Gleeson Homes specialise in building low cost homes aimed at first time buyers. The development is in a great location close to the town centre and local services.

Councillor David Molyneux, deputy leader and cabinet member for regeneration at Wigan Council has said “ It’s great to see a vacant site being put to good use and this will help boost the local economy and improve the look of the area”.

The first residents are expected in the summer with the completion of the development expected in 2018.
