Wigan Youth Zone is a purpose built, state-of-the-art youth facility in Wigan town centre which opened in June 2013. It offers young people from across Wigan the opportunity to meet friends, have new experiences, learn new skills and access the support they need to develop and achieve their potential. The Youth Zone started with a big idea and some passionate people who wanted to make a difference to young people’s lives here in Wigan, from the very start their members have been at the forefront of everything the Youth Zone does.
The charity is open to all young people across Wigan aged from 8 to 21, striving to offer something for everyone, regardless of their interests or abilities. With almost 15 dedicated areas to choose from including our four 40-metre floodlit football pitches, art room, music room and climbing wall – there’s something for everyone here at Wigan Youth Zone. Since opening its doors the Youth Zone has received over 272,000 visits from young people.
Their aim is simple, to provide the town’s young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
Anyone aged 8 right up to 19 can become a member of Wigan Youth Zone (and up to the age of 21 for The Venue). It’s a great opportunity for the young people of Wigan to get involved in fantastic opportunities, new sports and some fantastic activities – all just for 50p a session!
